Social media has become a crucial thing in part of our lives, with millions of people using it daily to connect with friends, share experiences, and stay updated on current News or events. However, the impact of social media of social media on mental health, has been a topic for discussion, with some studies suggesting that, it can have negative effects while others argue it can be a positive tool for mental well-being.

One of the main concern about social media and mental health is the potential for social comparison and low self-esteem. With the continues flow of well curated images and updates, from some friends and may be celebrities, it’s easy for people to feel inadequate and may be insecure about their own lives. This can result into feeling of depression and anxiety as well as decreased sense of self-worth.

Another concern, is the addictive nature of social media, which some of the times leads to excessive screen time and there by, neglect of real-life relationship. Every time scrolling through feeds, doing comparison of one-self to others can be destructive to own’s mental health as it can lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness.
